Claiming Your Account

1. https://northeast.us003-rapididentity.com/portal/claim/step1

When you first go to claim your account, you will be presented with this screen below. On this screen choose the policy that most relates to you, “Staff/Students”, after you do that click “Next”

2. On the next screen, you will need enter your College Wide ID Number and Claim Code. Make sure to check mark that you agree to the terms and click “Next”.

Note: You should have received an email including their College Wide ID number and Claim Code. This email will be sent to the personal email we have on record for you, make sure to check your Spam/Junk Folder.

3. You will then need to create a password.

Password requirements: MUST BE 12 characters long, include a capital letter, special character and number. The system is very picky and wants a strong password. It will not accept a password that includes your first/last name. We recommend using a phrase for your password. If it keeps denying your password, please keep trying stronger passwords with more special characters, numbers or extra letters.

4. Once you create your password, you will need to sign into your account by clicking on the blue “My Apps”. See picture below. You will use your whole Northeast email (EXAMPLE@northeast.edu) and password you just created.

Note: Occasionally, our system takes a couple of minutes to sync. If you try to sign in and get told your password is invalid, please wait a few minutes and try again.

5. After putting your password in, you will be prompted to set up MFA (Multi Factor Authentication). This is an extra step to keep your account secure. Click “Next” and then follow the steps below.

Setting up MFA - Microsoft Authenticator App
1. You will be prompted to set up MFA using the Microsoft Authenticator App. If you don’t want to set up using the app, see How to set up MFA with a different method below. To set up MFA with the App select, “Next on your screen”.

2. Remain on the “Set up Your Account” page while you set up the Authenticator App on your mobile device. You will need to go to your phone’s app store and install the App.

3. Open the Microsoft Authenticator App, select to allow notifications (if prompted), select “Add Account” from the Customize and control icon on the upper right corner and select, “Work or School Account”.


4. Return to the, “Set up Your Account Page” on your computer and then select, “Next”. The “Scan the QR Code” page appears. You may be prompted to allow your camera access. You will need to ALLOW it. Scan the provided code with your Microsoft Authenticator App QR code reader, which appeared on your mobile device after you created your work or school account. After scanning select, “Next”.

5. The Authenticator app should be successfully added to your work or school account without requiring additional information. A notification is sent to the Microsoft Authenticator App on your mobile device, to test your account. Looks like the picture below. Select, “Next”.

6. Approve the notification in your Microsoft Authenticator App, then select “Next”. Your security Info is updated to use the app by default to verify your identity when using two-step verification or password reset. Will look like the below picture once approved and ready. Select “Next”. You will be logged into your account displaying all your apps.

How to set up MFA with a different method - Phone Number
1. Select the, “I want to set up a different method” below.

2. You will then select “Authentication Phone”. Insert your cell phone number in the text box to the right and select “Send me a code by text message”. Click “Next”. See picture below.

3. It will then send a code to your phone and you will insert the code and select “Next”. You will now be logged into your account where it shows all your apps.
