Accessing Quarantined Emails for a Shared Mailbox

Purpose

Showing users with access to a shared mailbox how to see the quarantined messaged for that shared mailbox

Scope

This knowledge base applies to any user that has full read and manage access to a  shared mailbox

Procedures

Note: User needs to have full read and manage access to the shared mailbox. If they don't have access and need it, please fill out this form - Request Form - Request Access to a Shared Email Account (northeast.edu)

  1. Navigate to https://security.microsoft.com/quarantine. You should be automatically signed in with Single Sign-On. If you are not signed in, sign in with your northeast email and password (not the shared mailbox address).
  2. Click the filter buttonUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Filter recipient address by the shared mailbox address > Apply Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. As long as you have correct access to the shared mailbox, you will be able to see any messages that are in quarantine for that mailbox. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  5. To release a message from quarantine, select the box on the right of the email > ReleaseUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
