Key Items Discussed

NECC Schedule Update

  • NECC Schedule Update 4.1.25
  • Shift 1: Installation of ancillary and classroom furniture is scheduled from June 20th to July 10th, 2025.
  • Shift 2: Installation of desking furniture is scheduled from July 14th to August 1st, 2025.
  • Confidence in Schedule: Contractors believe they are ahead of schedule, which might allow for earlier access.

NIS Status Update

  • Switch Closet:
    • Currently undergoing the punch list process.
    • Key core installation expected within the next 2 weeks.
    • Closet is mostly clean and cooling systems are operational.
  • Fiber Installation:
    • Fiber is being patched into the closet on April 14th.
  • Network Configuration:
    • Applied Connective is nearly done testing and terminating drops.
    • Kevin is working on configuring the UPS for installation next week.
    • Network design is complete, with multicast address spaces defined.
    • Michael is configuring switches and wireless SSIDs.
    • ECC has started documenting AV equipment and requested remote network access.
    • Mike Castro is setting up cloud-based asset management for Crestron equipment.
    • Temporary Wi-Fi access will be provided for the general contractor once the network is installed.
  • Change Orders:
    • PR #35R2 - Cable Sleeves dated February 24, 2025.
    • PR #37 - Conference AV Camera dated March 12, 2025.
    • PR #38 – Cable Pathways dated March 24, 2025.
    • NECC informed Hausmann to proceed with installing pathways for PR #38.

Service Center Status Update

  • Printers:
    • Jake at Capital is looking into slightly used equipment to place in Maclay.
    • Potential reduction in printers in the faculty workroom, possibly replacing one with a black-and-white printer.

Procurement Status Update

  • Computers have been ordered, with no new updates.

Training

  • Faculty Training:
    • Scheduling training sessions for faculty on new AV equipment.
    • Developing curriculum and videos for onboarding faculty.
    • Coordinating with CT&L, Deans, and Administrative Assistants.

Communication Plan

  • Move-In Details:
    • Developing a communication plan to inform faculty about move-in details before summer break.
    • Ensuring faculty have access to updates and information during the summer.

Action Items

  1. Complete fiber patching and key core installation.
  2. Finish UPS setup and network configuration.
  3. Provide temporary Wi-Fi access for the general contractor.

Service Center

  1. Confirm printer specifics with Jake at Capital.
  2. Potentially reduce printers in the faculty workroom or supply black and white only printer.

Training

  1. Schedule and develop training materials for faculty on AV equipment.

Communication Plan

  1. Develop a plan to communicate move-in details to faculty before summer break.

  • Personal Time: Michael will be out for a few weeks, which may cause some delays.
  • Coordination: Ensuring coordination with physical plant for moving personal items and equipment.
  • Faculty Devices: Majority of faculty are on one device, with plans to provide new devices before summer break.
