Using Chosen Name in CRM Advise Email and Email Service Templates

Email Templates – Setting Chosen Name: CRM Advise

Navigate to and select the template you would like to update or a New template, if creating a new template. 

If it looks like this, it is correct. 

{!Person:Preferred Name;Person:First Name;} 

**The Field Name is “Preferred Name” but the Display Name is “Chosen First Name” 

Look for “Preferred Name” when setting your emails. 

 

If needs updating:

Insert Dynamic Text 

Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

 

Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

 

Ensure both fields are showing with Preferred Name listed first. 

Click Insert 

 

Will Appear in the body of the email draft

Email Service Templates 

Navigate to the template you would like to modify or create new 

**PreferredName is the field name. Chosen First Name will be the display name of the field in Advise 

 

How to set the Fields Mappings to create your Chosen First Name/Legal First Name  

  1. Create Personalization Mapping (will display as an option when the draft is saved” 

  1. Give it an appropriate name. 

  1. Select the Preferred Name field first, then the first name 

  1. You can map them to the name you would like to have them called in the template

  1. Return to your Template body 

  1. Select your “Chosen Name” field first. This will be the Preferred Name field with the name you gave it. Click Insert Mapping:

Then select the First Name Field and click “Insert Mapping Field”

Finally, edit the text in the body to delete the middle brackets and include the word or

Click Save 

 

This will update the Email Service Template to insert a Chosen First Name, should one exist, if not insert the first name.
