SCIE-109 Classroom Technology Use

This article summarizes how to use the projector, soundboard, and SMARTBoard in SCIE-109.
Body
How to get Started:
- Log in to the computer
- Assure that the audio output on the PC is set to the “Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (HDL300)” to use the wall-mounted soundbar
- Turn on the projector(s) by clicking the power button on the top left of the remote
To use the SMART Board:
- Make sure the projector is on
- Open the Smart Notebook application
- Select the “Use Notebook” button on the bottom right
- Maximize the Smart Notebook app on the projector and start to draw
When Completed:
- Sign out of the computer
- Turn off the projector(s) by clicking the power button on the top left of the remote
Troubleshooting:
Projector Issues:
- Display
- Assure that the display source is set to HDMI 1
- This can be done by cycling through the sources using the “Source Search” button on the top right of the remote
- Assure that all cables are properly plugged into the computer
- Power
- Go to the projector(s) and press the power button on the bottom of the projector
Sound Bar:
- Microphone
- Assure that the “Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (HDL300)” is selected as the microphone
- This can be done by going to the media center (the box with the Wi-Fi and speaker icons in it) in the bottom right of the screen
- Click on the “Sound Output” button next to the volume slider
- Click on the “more volume settings” at the bottom of the window

- Scroll down to the Input tile and select “Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (HDL300)”
Computer Issues:
- Display
- Assure that the Project settings on the computer are set to “Extend” or “Duplicate”
- For Extend, press Windows Key + P then click “Extend”

- For Duplicate, right click on the background of the desktop then click Display Settings

- Click on the monitor with 2 on it
- Click on the bottom right drop-down box and select “Duplicate desktop on 2 and 3”

- Select “Keep Changes” on the pop-up window
- Audio
- Assure that the Sound Output is set to “Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (HDL300)”
- This can be done by clicking on the Media Center (button with the Wi-Fi and Sound icons in them)
- Click on the Sound Output button next to the volume slider
- Select “Echo Cancelling Speakerphone (HDL300)”
