Canvas Class Missing

  1. Check if the course is active.  You can see this info on the course settings page - 
    • Students will not see their course until 6 days before the start of the term.  (Canvas will display the date the students will have access)
    • Canvas > Course > Settings on the left

  2. If it's a previous course, these can be found in Courses > All Courses and under Past Enrollments. Clicking the Favorites star will put it on the dashboard.

  3. Is the course published?  
    • Course Settings towards the top right, you can see if the course is published (live)

    • Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)If it's not, and it should be (see dates above), escalate to and contact someone in CETL to review and publish the course as needed.
  4. Check if the student is enrolled.
    • .Go to People in the course and see if the student is listed
      • If not, have them check their schedule in My Northeast.
      • If they have further questions, refer them to Admissions and Registration.
    • If you see Inactive, the student has been removed.

      • Have them check their schedule to ensure they are enrolled.
      • If the student had access at the beginning of the term but now does not, they may have been dropped for non-participation.   
        • If they have questions, please have them contact their instructor. You will need to provide the instructor's contact information to the student.

Note: Enrollments are basically instant.  If a student enrolls online, they should get added to the Canvas course within a few minutes.
